I increased my 6700k to a steady 4700Mhz using Adaptive mode on the Asus Z170-A board.
Checking with CPU-Z and HWMonitor shows it never drops below that frequency.
Since I haven’t altered the BIOS after overclocking, any advice would be valuable.

verify cpu sleep modes are active. if missing, the cpu will not power down.
