Searching for a CPU within a £300–£400 budget that works well with your NVIDIA 1660 Super. You're open to Intel or AMD options and are willing to invest in a cooling solution if needed.

Place the remaining 150 quid into a 2060 Super or adjust for the 3600 and 2070 models based on your content volume.

The Rx 5700/5700xt isn't getting much attention anymore, but the Ryzen 5 3600+ offers solid performance for gaming.

I suggested the 2060S/2070S because OP intends to stream, and Turing NVENC remains superior to the encoder used in Navi. For pure gaming speed, the 5700XT performs slightly better than the 2060S at the same cost.

Offers a strong rivalry with the 2070 super, performing impressively close.

Typically it runs about 5-8% slower compared to the 2070S, but using more power helps. Still, even without streaming on OP’s to-do list, a 5700XT would have been a strong choice.

The decision between Intel and AMD feels quite limited. For content creation it leans more toward AMD if you’re dealing with video rendering or complex spreadsheets, but it flips when it comes to basic tasks like word processing. Overall, the options are very similar. The best approach might be evaluating total system value rather than focusing on a single component. Motherboard prices are also a factor. It seems the 3700 series is pushing the limits for GPUs, and even the 3600 or 10600 could face challenges down the line. I’m unsure about the exact CPU thread count needed for streaming, which would be important for AMD GPUs.
