CPU benchmark results
In mid-January I increased my 9900K to 5.0GHz and adjusted the voltage until it was optimal. I repeatedly tested it with UserBenchmark and received stable outcomes each time:
A few days ago I chose to reinstall Windows (no need for it) and hoped for better performance. I ran another UserBenchmark:
The score remained steady but decreased slightly. I verified my CPU still maintained a consistent 5000MHz frequency. What might have affected the result? Were there any settings I altered? Will the score continue to fall? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I worry that this could indicate wear on my hardware and that the benchmark isn't helping me feel confident.
How recently was the test run after a fresh Windows installation? It might not be finalized yet, as it's still installing or running in the background. You could try setting the program to high priority, checking if Windows is in high performance mode even in the advanced menu, and disabling the game bar.
I put it in high performance mode a few days ago, and it's running smoothly. CPU usage is at 0% during idle. I didn't adjust the priority settings before, so it shouldn't be an issue... also, testing with and without Game Mode gave the same outcome. The best result came when Game Mode was active.
