I'm finding it hard to decide between the 5600x and 5800x processors. I aim for a reliable CPU that lasts around 4-5 years, mainly for gaming and light overclocking to about 4.3GHz. Regarding the motherboards, you have several options: Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO, Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming, Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS, Asus TUF GAMING X570-Plus. You mentioned around 6 case fans and a Noctua NH-D15 black. You're leaning toward the AORUS PRO but aren't sure. You don't plan to use PCIe storage and have a HyperX Fury Black 2x16GB DDR4 3200MHz case, which is TUF 501T or Corsair Graphite 780T. Thanks for your advice!

For gaming a 5600x works fine. For a board, the MSI B550 Tomahawk is a reliable choice. Like with any board, you'll need to perform a BIOS flash, but the MSI model handles this without requiring a CPU—just follow the manual and it should work. Avoid overclocking the 5600x or 5800x; they already run faster than their boosted speeds. You won’t need an oversized cooler or many fans. A budget option like the Sytec Fuma 2 can match the cooling of a high-end NHD15. Adding more case fans doesn’t improve performance and can create poor airflow. The cases you mentioned aren’t ideal—their fans don’t flow well, and the graphite case is outdated and costly for its price (around $50 today, not nearly $200).

For gaming purposes, the 5600X is sufficient. When it comes to RAM, recent reviews indicate a performance boost of nearly 10% with Ryzen 5000 series chips, so opt for four 8GB sticks. The 5600X is quite energy-efficient, making the NH-D15 unnecessary. All the motherboards listed are solid choices—just choose based on your needs or budget.

MSI should resolve the issue shortly via a BIOS update.

consider reliable cases that fit your needs. For CPU fans, look for high-quality models with good airflow and compatibility. Regarding your build, a 2-3 intake setup with two top exhausts and one rear exhaust sounds solid. Upgrading to a new GPU in 1-2 years is manageable if you choose the right motherboard. The X570 is still viable, but newer models offer better performance—check compatibility with your future GPU.

It really depends on your needs and budget, but the Phanteks P300A mesh is a solid choice. Pairing it with five Arctic P12 fans gives you excellent airflow performance. For a 5600 series cooler, a budget option works well—something like a Hyper 212 Performance is more than sufficient. You don’t need an X570 board since you won’t be using its features; opt for a B550 instead. Avoid overspending on the motherboard either, as most models won’t support the BIOS updates required for Ryzen 5000 CPUs.

The Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO White works well even in a desert climate.
