It seems the 6300 might be too intense for just playing games. Which titles were you watching?

Alright, I'm going to start testing the FX6300 and consider getting an i3. Maybe a Skylake setup... It's for a girl.

Play Fallout 4 with maximum difficulty and enjoy Witcher 3: Rainbow Six Siege.

For her, the i3 haswell is more than sufficient. Your first message really stands out to her.

Yeah, it's pretty wild you're doing both at once. Your 6300 sounds like a beast, so keep it tight. I'm sure the G3258 won't stand a chance against it.

You can feel any uncertainty you wish, but with a six-core FX 6300 running at 4.82 GHz, I believe it’s capable of handling nearly everything.

I mean I'm just calling it how I see it. If you have a 6300 at 4.8 why are you trying to give it to your friend who may or may not be a girl...as if that matters. This is a very bizarre thread. I'm not even really sure what you are asking at this point. Here's G3258 stock vs. stock with a 6300 to keep things relevant http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Int...2434vs1555
