Recently I've observed that my CPU's peak clock speed has dropped from the advertised 4.6GHz to 4.1GHz (confirmed via Ryzen Master and CPU-Z). I haven't adjusted any overclocking options or added extra software beyond AI Suite 3. I refreshed my chipset drivers, which might have contributed to the problem but didn’t resolve it. Resetting the settings through Ryzen Master restored me to the original 4.6GHz maximum speed and kept idle temperatures between 40-45°C with a Corsair H100i Pro xt. However, my system crashed immediately after that, even though temperatures remained stable. I’m unsure what’s causing this and everything seemed normal about a week ago. Could anyone explain what might be happening?

The highest boost frequency on a stock 3600xt is 4.5Ghz, which is just the peak for one-core tasks. The base clock runs at 3.8Ghz. Around 4.1Ghz feels typical. What are your load temperatures?

The 3600xt CPU with 95 watts should not overheat under a 240mm AIO setup. There might be an issue with your cooling system—thermal paste, mounting pressure, failing pump, or fan placement. A misconfigured BIOS could also play a role. Even at stock speeds, voltage settings might be too high. Ryzen Master typically reports performance metrics during load conditions.

After resetting the BIOS, performance improved to 4.5-4.6 with voltage changes matching clock speed, suggesting it returned to factory settings. It seems one of the downloaded programs might have auto-overclocked your chip and caused the slowdown, but a basic BIOS reset fixed the issue. Thanks for the guidance!
