Could your damaged motherboard affect other components?
Hello everyone! Backstory: I’m experiencing a problem where only certain websites work on Windows. On the same machine I can use xubuntu (dual boot), but the network speed is extremely slow. I’ve tried various solutions on Windows, but nothing fixed it. Even after reinstalling on a clean drive, the issue persists. This suggests a possible motherboard fault. No other devices on the network are affected. Quick question: Could a networked motherboard damage the GPU? Build details: Motherboard model ASRock B85M Pro3; CPU i5-4460; GPU MSI 1660Ti; RAM 2x8GB DDR3.
It would depend on the issue—if the problem lies with the hardware, it's not tied to the operating system. Linux wouldn't necessarily fail in that case.
I had the same idea in mind. Currently it functions on Linux, but it's deteriorating each day. Also, the issue persisted even after a new Windows 10 setup. The attached files illustrate the situation in real life. This might affect any two platforms. Some sites worked consistently, while most were unreachable. I couldn't use Discord or Steam apps. I'm quite unsure what this actually means. My guess is the motherboard.
