Yes, its in the upper slot of the two that I have. Has a tiny bit of sag if that matters.
I'm cooling my CPU with a Deepcool AK400 Zero Dark. I definitely do need to look into faster RAMs. My CPU temps dont go over 75 during this test.

It should work fine then. The 2x16GB DDR4 4000 CL18 model is roughly around $80. You might also consider the 4400, though prices tend to rise quickly.

You wonder if increasing my RAM might improve the results. It's confusing since my GPU didn't lag much a year ago, and generally GPUs don't really lose performance unless they're constantly under heavy use (which hasn't happened for me). I'm also considering that Port Royal is a very GPU-intensive benchmark.

VRAM overages eventually affect system memory. This explains the current criticism toward 8GB cards, as their performance drops when system memory begins to be utilized. Several factors can occur on a GPU without causing a failure. The temperature sensor displayed in monitoring tools doesn't represent the full picture—it may reflect an average or just one sensor. Internally, the silicon contains numerous local temperature sensors to prevent overheating. Thermal paste degradation is possible, and prolonged stress can lead to its detachment. Heat cycling matters more than constant high usage; even if only a small portion of the GPU overheats, performance may remain normal but reduced. GDDR5X and newer versions include partial ECC, allowing memory errors to be corrected in real time, which might require interrupting the rendering pipeline to redo a render. A practical test could involve slightly lowering memory clocks to observe improvements. Also, ensure your PSU is reliable; issues like power limits reported by HW Monitor can indicate problems, especially if the GPU doesn’t reach its expected power draw. Watch the 12V voltage during tests—significant drops may signal a failing PSU affecting the GPU. Nvidia has also released drivers for older cards that have caused issues, possibly due to incompatibility.

Finished exploring Port Royal and verified sensor readings using HWiNFO. Voltage and wattage were normal, GPU consistently ran at 195-200W with voltage between 1-1.10. Junction temp stayed around 75-80°C and hotspot reached 80-86°C. Everything looks okay so far. Next step will be to adjust memory clocks and recheck.

Was die CMOS nach dem BIOS-Update bereinigt? Wenn nicht, müssen Sie das tun, um sicherzustellen, dass es sich nicht um ein BIOS-Problem handelt.

I haven't changed anything, but increasing my core clock by 200mhz helped boost my score. It's unclear whether to maintain this setting or adjust it further, as these are not standard configurations but reflect the GPU's actual performance metrics.

It would also be a good idea. You can adjust your OC afterward and then test it.
