Could the BSOD be caused by a defective MOBO?
Could the BSOD be caused by a defective MOBO?
Hi everyone, I've been experiencing BSOD for the past week and am looking for assistance to resolve it. When I turn on the PC, about five seconds later I encounter the BSOD, and the error messages vary each time. I've already attempted several fixes mentioned in the thread's bottom section. What are your thoughts? Could it be related to the MOBO not functioning properly?
PC specifications:
MOBO: MSI Z690-A Pro (DDR4)
CPU: i5-13600k
GPU: RTX 3080
SSD: Seagate Firecuda 530
RAM: 32gb Kingston Fury DDR4 3600mhz
PSU: Corsair RM850
DISSI: Noctua DH-15
Most frequent BSOD messages:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
SYS_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
Things I've tried so far:
Updated MOBO drivers to the latest version
Formatted SSD and performed a clean Windows 10 installation
Attempted booting with a different SSD (Crucial BX500)
Disabled XMP profile in BIOS and adjusted RAM frequency
Swapped RAM sockets and booted Windows with both banks separately; also ran MemTest86, no errors found
Uncertain about the meaning of 'didn't work,' but if the same issue persists, it indicates the GPU isn't the problem.
Yeah I still have BSOD... do you know by any chance if there's a way to check if it's the MOBO causing BSOD?
