Could something trigger this hesitation?
I’m considering my next computer upgrade and am seeking advice from others. My gaming PC, which I acquired from my brother three years ago, is roughly five years old and performed adequately at the time of purchase. Currently, I can play games like Battlefield 5 reasonably well, although I occasionally experience performance dips, and I suspect my central processing unit (CPU) might be limiting my gaming capabilities. My hardware upgrades have been limited to a new power supply and graphics card.
Here are my system details:
* Motherboard: ASUS 98Z77-V LX
* RAM: Two Corsair 4GB DDR3 (Part Number CML8GX3M2A1600C9)
* CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k (Ivy Bridge), which I believe is overclocked, reaching a frequency of 4.2 MHz during gameplay.
* GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6GB
* Power Supply: 650W (unspecified brand)
* HDD: Seagate ST31000524AS
I’m aiming to spend between $100 and $200 on an upgrade. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations you might have, thank you!
A solid-state drive offers the most substantial improvement for your investment. If you’re experiencing lag when loading portions of the game map, an SSD would significantly mitigate this issue. Following that, upgrading your central processing unit is recommended; however, this necessitates a compatible motherboard and RAM, which typically exceeds a budget of $100-$200. Attempting to acquire a secondhand i7 ivy-bridge processor might not yield substantial performance gains.
