You just completed your latest upgrade and added both an old and a new M.2 slot. Once the system started up and entered BIOS, I couldn’t locate them in the boot devices, though I saw them elsewhere in the BIOS settings (see attached image). I’m unsure if I missed a configuration or made a mistake. It might help, but my motherboard is an MSI B650 Tomahawk.

No, I didn't install an operating system on the SSDs.

You're absolutely right about the layout. It would have been clearer to share a screenshot of the boot options page. In the MSI BIOS, the choices are grouped, so just a quick click on the active drive should reveal them.

Confirmed. The previous SSD retained my operating system without any modifications before the installation.

We're discussing the age of this conversation. It might be relying on a legacy MBR setup, so turning off CSM could be necessary for the system to start.

The drive in question is the Western Digital Blue SN550 NVMe SSD (link provided). I bought it around 2020 and it’s currently configured for UEFI booting rather than CSM. That setup isn’t uncommon, but I’m not entirely sure. I’m not very familiar with these technical details.

MSI configures the interface in an unusual way; choose UEFI hard disk first, then proceed to select SSDs via the UEFI Hard Disk BBS menu where you can pick the desired SSD.

Under the UEFI network drive section labeled BBS priorities at the bottom, look for "UEFI hard disk drive BBS priorities." Verify its presence and contents.
