Hello everyone,
The title indicates everything, but could an i5-6600k cause issues with a GTX 1080 in today's games?

It would be clearer if we considered these factors more directly—resolution, settings, and the game itself. In certain situations, it might slow down or not perform as expected.

You're only using 1080p at 144hz, wondering if you could maintain steady 72fps in titles such as Deus Mankind Divided or Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Verify whether your CPU is operating at full capacity or if the GPU is being used. If the GPU is underutilized, upgrading may yield greater benefits; consider a better CPU instead, or continue using it until reaching Zen 2.
