Corsair Commander Pro fails to maintain fans at the desired RPM settings.
In essence, I installed two x commander pros for the top two CPU radiators fans and another pair for the two x GPU radiators. I used a corsire link to adjust the fan curve, but even though all fans look the same, some run at higher RPMs while others are lower. It’s unclear why this variation exists since not every fan was tested individually.
For one, no two fans are exactly the same. All motors and most electronics using motors/windings have some mechanical differences. Rarely is anything completely identical, though some parts are quite similar and wouldn't stand out much.
Secondly, it seems there might be a setup issue—perhaps a connection to a PWM header isn't correct, or something is wrong with the fan headers. The variation could be happening on the same device or it might differ between the two commander pros being compared.
All are identical 4pin EC fans; when connected to the PC, they operate within a 500rpm range once plugged in. Some will run at one speed while others at another, even though the fan curves are set to any value. I tested this on both of my Corsire Commander pros and it worked the same.
There are five fans on the first unit and six on the second
Controller 1 has four CPU fans and one case fan
Controller 2 features six GPU fans
The aim was to achieve a quiet operation while maintaining full performance
