Corner bend on i7 2600K
I purchased this CPU but when I start the system, only a beeping sound is heard. Is the CPU working correctly or should I return it to the seller?
I know it shouldn't appear this way. Even if you're covered by the warranty, perhaps adjusting it slightly could help?
Got it, sent back to seller. The 3470 was in broken shape, but I didn’t notice any damage before buying. One side chipped a bit, and it stopped working. No code from the PCI debug card. How could something like this happen?
No direct cooling without a suitable bracket forces you to tweak tension constantly. Too much pressure damages memory paths or cracks the die—like what happened with my first 3570K. Too little causes memory loss and might even pull the CPU out of the socket, making it hard to notice. Ultimately, this isn't a good situation.
It was a refurbished CPU since you can't locate a brand new i7 2600K these days, but it comes with a 10-day warranty from the seller.
