Completed my latest configuration and am worried about CPU voltage and fan behavior. Using the newest BIOS, HWMonitor v1.43.0 indicates all cores frequently hit 1.500 V during basic tasks like browsing Chrome. No BIOS changes except enabling DOCP for RAM speed settings. The monitor also shows some cores reaching 4949 MHz, with the lowest at 4599 MHz. Do you have a Zen 3 tuning guide for Asus mobos such as the Dark Hero? I have AI Suite and Ryzen Master installed.
My ASRock board handles the same setup with my 3900x, aiming for a steady 1.4v, which then increases to about 1.48v. I manually adjusted mine to 1.25v. The SoC kept around 1.2v whether it was running or idle. Under load and at rest, it stayed near 1.05v. I followed the Jayz video on CPU voltage, locking the VCore at 1.25v, the SoC at 1.05v, and managing the other voltages accordingly.
It seems you're recalling how motherboards typically supply higher voltage to the CPU than necessary. You mentioned adjusting the BIOS settings manually for voltage control. Regarding core speeds, modern CPUs handle varying frequencies automatically unless specific configurations restrict them.
Negative offset voltage is available, but it may reduce performance even when clock speeds remain unchanged.
