Cooling techniques and performance boosts for an i7 2600K processor
I just got an i7 2600k with an Asus P67 Sabertooth motherboard and a case. The box cooler still worked after eight years, keeping things around 50°C when idle and jumping to 100 under load. The thermal paste was excellent and there wasn’t much left. I’m trying to find a cooler under $75 AUD. So far I’ve checked the Hyper 212 Evo and the CRYORIG M9 Plus, but I’m not sure which is best without breaking the bank. I also want to push it to 4.5 GHz or even 5 GHz for a bit of longevity. Some people managed that, but I’m more interested in getting a slight boost. Could anyone suggest some options? Also, my Antec P183 has two front pull fans and one rear fan. My room gets warm in summer (up to 35°C) but stays cool in winter (around 20°C). Should I consider those factors when choosing airflow and cooling efficiency? Thanks, Mounika

What kind of speed boost is possible with this unit? Most importantly, what steps are needed to reach those settings? This is your first time tuning it.
It seems this device is likely from more than five years ago, which could affect its reliability. Would a 600W power supply be suitable for it?
