Cooling Ryzen 5 5500 hits 90°C with the original cooler.
Using HWMonitor or Asus software should display the temperatures. CPU-Z functions as well, though I haven't used it. If you have a separate thermostat, place it near the cooler heatsink to check its reading. Just remember, it's important to do your own research before proceeding. @-rascal- Is this approach safe?
It seems the problem isn't here, but HWMonitor provides unreliable data and isn't recommended. For accurate system monitoring, use HWiNFO64 as the industry standard.
I'll test the 5500 in a different system to check for overheating signs. I'm looking to confirm if these issues are related to the CPU or if there might be BIOS configuration problems.
You won't receive precise temperature data; it will mostly reflect the ambient air temperature near the heatsink. It will be significantly lower than the actual CPU temperature. HWMonitor may display incorrect values. I've changed to HWiNFO for all my systems, including my Ryzen 5800X setup. The motherboard likely supports the Ryzen 5000 series by default, but verify for any recent BIOS updates. If you think a BIOS setting is off, try using the 'Load Defaults' feature.
