Cooler for overclocking

I'm looking into overclocking and I've heard you need a solid cooler to let your CPU handle the boost. Is this cooler suitable? Also, my CPU is an Athlon X4 860k with the built-in cooler, but I feel it's not sufficient. Thanks ahead for your assistance!

Yes, it can manage OC to some extent. The extent is influenced by various other factors as well.

I don't know about the silicone, but the motherboard you mentioned, Gigabyte G1 Sniper A88X-CF, seems suitable.
