I've enjoyed playing Day-Z, and I must say, this image isn't unexpected. The game truly impresses with its full graphics.

I own two 290Xs and a 3570k, and the game is set to maximum. Why isn’t it displaying like that? The monitor is a PB238Q, so I’m not sure. ... Screenshots always seem so great, but actually running the games doesn’t work (not just DayZ, any title).

It relates to server mods like HD Graphics and improved landscaping. I'm still unsure if it's one of those adjustments or just a genuine high-quality graphics display.

I have a feeling it is. My grass doesn't look like that on Vanilla. The DoF isn't that extreme. And the render distance is huge in that screenshot. It's probably a "staged" screenshot. Like, they explicitly edited the settings to get this image. As opposed to actually playing the game at these settings all the time. In Vanilla, at max settings, I still get meh FPS (25-45) from time to time. It's pretty terrible. Sometimes it's buttery smooth. Sometimes it's choppy. And it switches randomly even when the scene doesn't change (i.e. looking at the floor). Regardless, this is a great screenshot, and representative of the potential Day Z has.

It seems like the game might be modified. Still, it highlights just how much Day-Z could become if it were fully realized.
