USB motherboard connectors prior to the type C feature hold two ports on each header. When your enclosure offers just two front USB 3.x type A ports, a single USB 3.x board header suffices.

These headers are for USB 1/2 and 3.x boards. The Type C port supports USB 3.1 Gen 2, while USB 3.0 and 3.1 Gen 1 share the same connector. The bigger 20-pin connector is located to the right of the image.
