I'm handling IT support and testing some machines. When I run sysprep with the file my coworker provided, it fails to boot. He realized the file is meant for a 32-bit OS but these are 64-bit. Can I modify the x86 sections in the .xml to make it work?

I agreed too, but the colleague mentioned it needed 64-bit in the answer file. Better give it a shot since I already have a pre-sysprep image.

On x64 systems there are minor differences compared to an x32 sysprep answering file. You can use the Microsoft tool for generating sysprep files, import your x32 bit version and convert it to x64 architecture. This tool is free and simplifies editing sysprep files with syntax checks. (It’s called Windows System Image Manager and is available for download at no cost)
