Even though I might just drop it, has anyone else tried using the thumb stick on their controller to the point of smoothness? I was thinking about adding this to a Console Gaming thread, but since I use the PC controller here, it works perfectly! Also, sorry if the picture isn’t clear.

I really can't grasp how they manage this with controllers, honestly. I've owned my 360 controller for a long time, and it still has some functionality left. Working on a controller for those Series/One systems feels completely out of my range.

It might also relate to the natural oils on your fingertips and how much they generate. The quantity each person produces can vary, causing some to damage plastics easily while others show little impact.

Yeah, I'm somewhere in between. I can definitely feel a big difference when I use a controller with brand new thumbsticks vs one that's a couple years old. But some peoples sticks seem to practically melt in even less time.

I've owned this controller since its release (roughly 3-4 years ago) and it's been used a lot. It's the first one I've worn this way—PS5, Xbox, Switch, and it's still in great shape despite all that use.

Yes... it usually takes around five minutes to complete that task. It's built into the process, so it works perfectly...

The main controller lasted about 15 years; it functioned well as long as the cable remained intact. The small protrusions likely endured only a short time—perhaps just the first week.
