I encountered this issue a few hours ago. Whenever I press the "t" key on my HP laptop keyboard, the control keys respond as if they were pressed, even though they aren't. I believe the "t" key is the only one doing this. The same happens with the on-screen keyboard. If I click the "t" key, both control keys light up and remain lit until I reset the keyboard using control-alt-delete.

I've attempted to update, uninstall, and reinstall some mouse and keyboard drivers without success.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem before?

Check if any keys are sticking or binding. This could indicate a need to replace the keyboard or look for debris under the keys. Model and SKU to your HP laptop?

Check if any keys are sticking or binding. This could indicate a worn-out keyboard or debris under the keys. If you have the model and SKU, it might help determine if a replacement is needed.

I last managed to clean the keyboard and cable using compressed air and isopropyl alcohol, and the problem appears resolved.
