You're experiencing screen tearing issues even though you've adjusted settings on both your 4070 and 1660 monitors. It's possible the problem lies with the older 4070 model itself, as its display technology may not handle high refresh rates or low-latency modes as effectively as newer models. Consider checking for firmware updates or contacting the manufacturer for support.

These are display monitors. If they're older models, they likely don't have VRR support.

they are both from the 22nd century, but one model comes from 2016 and the other from 2018.

During that time, a dedicated chip was required on monitors for variable refresh rates. Sync options were limited. I reviewed Benq’s specifications and believe most monitors don’t support VRR. The best approach is to rely on vSync, but only if your GPU can maintain at least 60 frames per second in the games you play.

Thanks for the kind words! I’m sure a monitor upgrade will come in handy soon. Regarding your Discord screen share issue, the tear you’re seeing might be a display glitch or a software problem—checking your settings and ensuring everything is updated could help.

Based on recent findings, some users attribute the issue to a mismatch between GPU output and screen refresh rate. Others mention outdated drivers or suggest disabling hardware acceleration in Discord. Enabling v-sync can help synchronize the game with the monitor’s refresh rate, though it may introduce a slight lag in your actions. It resolves tearing problems and improves visual smoothness, but can make input responses feel delayed.
