Hello everyone, just wanted to share that I recently purchased a Ryzen 7 5800X. Everything seems fine, but I’ve noticed it keeps fluctuating between boost and idle even when I’m not using it. Since my workload is mainly gaming with maximum performance, putting energy saving mode would lower the frequency too much—down to 2000 MHz instead of the usual 3700/4800. The problem is that in energy saving it only drops to 2000 MHz during games, which doesn’t help much. Anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent the CPU from constantly boosting when it’s not needed?
The post mentions 5800X while the screenshot seems to show CPU clock data. I believe the GPU clock is what’s displayed here. I used HWInfo to track Ryzen core speeds and found a reading near 5900X.
