Conspiracy surrounding Battlefield 3 nerfs
Conspiracy surrounding Battlefield 3 nerfs
Hello everyone, and please wear your reflective gear—this seems to be one wild theory I just heard... And sorry if it doesn’t fit in the right spot, I’m hoping to highlight it here for a bit. We remember that Battlefield 3 launched for free on Origin last June. Since then, many new players have joined the community... Now, after more than a month, I’ve noticed discussions about performance drops in this game. This idea comes from a particular thread. Now let’s dive into the claim... With Battlefield 4 in full release and Hardline on the horizon, I believe EA is intentionally reducing Battlefield 3’s impact to encourage people to switch to Battlefield 4. They might be targeting players who got the game through Origin’s “On The House” offer, prompting them to leave Battlefield 3 (whose servers would quietly stop running) and move to Battlefield 4, while boosting excitement around Hardline. My evidence? Posts and topics pointing to slower performance on hardware that should handle the system smoothly. Just a guess—keep an eye out!
Even if EA is reducing the game's difficulty, it would be foolish if they actually did, and I still wouldn’t choose Hardline or revisit BF4 after trying the latest DLC. If this were real, not just speculation, they’d be making a mistake. In short, none of EA’s recent titles have been on my system for a while, so I’m indifferent.
Someone mentioned a conspiracy, but calling it one is tricky because a real conspiracy needs to be impossible to prove. It’s easy to spot the pattern here—look for that recognizable mark on this game. This kind of move is clearly documented by EA, particularly in their sports division. They’ve shut down old servers to push players toward newer titles. Also, BF4 is really struggling now; the new expansion includes weapons that are way too powerful, and the lag I’m feeling—despite a good ping—has completely ruined my experience.
Tell me which GPU and driver version you're using. I'm here to help!
It wouldn't be surprising if they were doing it. After all, EA has a history of issues. BF3 remains a solid and well-loved title, so if they aim to undermine it, that could be a poor decision. I won’t receive any more BF games after the problems with BF4 and the disappointing Hardline beta. Honestly, I’d really like EA to shut down completely and let other companies handle their titles, as they seem to keep making things worse and harming beloved franchises.
