Considering updates for my CPU alongside other components such as the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
I constructed my initial PC four years back and added my present specifications to the PC Part picker.
I’m unsure if this is the right spot for sharing, but I aimed to upgrade my i9 9900KS after switching my graphics card to a 4070 Ti Super. I’m fine with recycling components, though I only built one PC so far—the one shown above and below. I think I’d need a more powerful motherboard and RAM.
Could you suggest a suitable Mobo with three x3 M.2 slots that can fully utilize my graphics card? Also, what CPU cooler would be best for me? I prefer a fan-based solution.
I built my first PC four years ago and listed my current build on PC Part picker.
Should I consider upgrading the CPU, cooler, motherboard, or RAM, or should I think about building a new system?
Please stylize your thread with info asked of in this thread; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums. so we can provide constructive suggestions to your upgrade endeavors. I built my first PC four years ago and I included my current spec's Below on PC Part picker. Please include your current system's specs in case you want to recycle any parts from your current build. I noticed a PCPartPicker link in your sig space, please include that in your thread's body since sig space specs can and will change over time, rendering his thread and it's suggestions moot to the end user in the same boat as you're in now.
It depends on whether you still want your current setup and have the necessary AMD components for your cooler. If so, you could adapt it with a new AMD-based configuration. In that scenario, only your motherboard, CPU, and RAM would need to change. Do you know your budget for this? Where are you located?
California and my Budget are likely under 3k. I believe I should upgrade to a more recent and efficient cooler. I’m considering a mid-case model that provides ample space for the 4070 Super Ti after removing the bays. The Fractal Design Define R5 ATX Mid Tower Case is currently in use, and I’m running an Intel i9 9900K without an AMD build. I might need a new PSU even though I already have a Corsair 850W for my current setup. It seems like I’m beginning to address my own questions—new RAM, CPU, motherboard, possibly a new PSU. It looks like a fresh build is on the horizon. If possible, swapping out the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and maybe the cooler would be ideal.
