The IPC remains consistent across the 10700K and 10600K models. They share the same microarchitecture, produced from identical silicon wafers. The 10700K and 10600K are essentially the same as 10900K, except certain cores/threads are removed when they don’t meet requirements. When both are set to 5.3 GHz, their performance will match. The difference comes from the extra cores/threads in the 10700K, which can boost speed by about 0.5 to 1 FPS if the software supports it. In practice, you’ll notice a noticeable improvement over the 10600K, especially with applications that utilize multiple cores.
For now, whether you choose the Ryzen 3000 series or Intel 9th/10th Gen, the results are still uncertain. Performance data for Ryzen 5900X is mostly based on user experiences. Be cautious of claims about being faster than an RTX 2080 Ti—RTX 3080 offers only a modest 10–15% improvement. If you opt for the RTX 3080, consider upgrading your power supply immediately. A ~850W PSU is recommended. If you decide to go with a Ryzen 5900X, it’s wise to postpone the CPU upgrade and wait for better options. Once you acquire a new CPU and motherboard, connect your RTX 3080 or 3090 to the existing setup.

If CBR20 predictions match gaming perfectly (which they don't), the 631 score on the 5900x is roughly 20% stronger than a 5GHz Coffee Lake chip. I’d expect near-par performance in situations where Intel lagged behind with Zen 2, and around 10-15% better across most areas except a few exceptions. I’d hold off on expecting solid results until Zen 4 or Rocket Lake is available, unless you’re only prioritizing the cores. Overall, more than 20% feels meaningful as long as you’re not just meeting the bare minimum playability.
