Considering a gradual PC refresh – where would you prioritize your initial upgrades?
Hello everyone!
My computer hasn’t been updated in over five years, perhaps even longer. Here’s my current configuration:
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z97M-PLUS
Processor: Intel Core i5-4430 CPU @ 3.00GHz (4 cores), approximately 3.0 GHz
Memory: 8GB of Dual-Channel DDR3 RAM at 666MHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980
Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Blue WDC WD10EZEX-00MFCA0
Solid State Drive: Apacer AS510S 128GB (SATA SSD)
I require an improvement because I experience performance issues and delays when playing specific games and while streaming. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The GTX 980 remains functional; it outperforms a GTX 1060. The hard drive needs upgrading with solid-state drives now, such as this one: – this will provide immediate advantages, even if you retain the existing 128GB SSD for startup. However, to address your issues with video playback and gaming, a simultaneous upgrade of the processor, RAM, and motherboard is necessary. Please specify your initial financial allocation for this endeavor.
