Hey, I have a similar configuration too. To be honest, I’ll hold off until the used market kicks in if you don’t have the funds to jump onto a new platform with DDR5. Once the Ryzen 6000 series and i5 12400F with B6xx board are available, depending on the VRM you can get a 5600X. Or you could skip that and go with 1440p, using something like 3060Ti or 3070 if you manage to find one. I’m still torn about it.

The market has already reduced prices for the 5XXX series CPUs. Further reductions will only happen if you decide to wait for an upgrade.
I wouldn't, the 2600x is fine with that 1660Ti. Hold off for another generation.

It varies by game. For 1080p or low-end esports with a high refresh monitor, a CPU upgrade can be beneficial. The same applies to MMOs. Usually, when FPS drops, the GPU pauses on the CPU to recover.
