Consider your network needs before deciding. If it's outdated or underperforming, replacing it might be wise.

It all comes down to your needs. What makes you want a new router? If it supports WiFi 6, consider waiting a bit longer until it becomes more widely adopted, so all your gadgets can benefit from it.
Are you facing limitations with your existing router or encountering unresolved issues? If so, stick with what you have. Consider whether you require enhanced performance, improved connectivity, or extra functionalities. Options like remote management or robust VPN support might also be worth exploring. Your priorities will guide the decision. If budget allows but you're unsure of purchases, it's better to opt for alternatives where your current setup suffices.
I don't see anything useful unless you're after something very particular. It's odd WiFi runs faster than LAN. Routers shouldn't cause this problem since their ports are gigabit. Verify your computer's LAN card supports gigabit and use a Cat 5a or higher Ethernet cable.
I'm using cat 6e cable and a LAN on a Gigabit port on the motherboard. I'm facing some problems with the board, possibly another cause. On the LAN, I see 1 Mbps, but it jumps to 160 Mbps. The router seems to be working fine. I wasn't sure if things had improved recently.
Curious about the same problem with other PCs on your LAN? It seems new challenges keep emerging. That’s why I began with WiFi 6, as it’s gradually improving but not all devices are compatible. You might need to switch your PC’s WiFi adapter to enable WiFi 6 support. Unless you require features like a VPN server or client on the router, a built-in ad blocker, or stronger signal, upgrading probably isn’t necessary. Consider WiFi 6 routers again if more devices can use them and you still have some that do.
Connecting either of my MSDI laptops functions properly, delivering about 200 Mbps. I’ll keep using my old router unless there’s significant change. It operates smoothly without issues. My belief is the problem lies with the motherboard. I experience recurring USB device failures at startup and USB resource errors. I’ve stopped attempting repairs. ASUS advised me to use Currys for repairs, but Currys only contacts ASUS.
