I checked XPS 15 and wondered if the 3050 Ti justifies the extra $100. Most of my software—Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Video Studio Pro—runs smoothly there. For security work I use Wireshark, Nmap, ELK Stack, Security Onion, Kali OS, OpenVAS. I also play a bit of gaming like Apex Legends, Warzone, and Battlefield to hit around 60+ FPS on medium/high settings.
The display won't show the full 100$ worth of extra visuals on a 3050 device, especially given its limited lifespan. You shouldn't be surprised if expectations are managed for a mobile platform.
