It's reasonably priced on G2A and looks like a cool concept. Should I go ahead and purchase it?

It's another typical survival game...I wouldn't bother. I was excited at launch, but it hasn't improved much since then.

These platforms are siphoning funds from game creators who are struggling to support African communities. Beyond violating the Steam agreement, they purchase games in lower-cost regions or buy in large quantities during discounts, leveraging bots to distribute rewards—generating profit from others' efforts. This behavior is unethical and should be treated similarly to piracy.

Excessive excitement around it didn’t match what you expected. Spending 15 USD on a game meant for just a couple of weeks isn’t worth it if it doesn’t deliver. I haven’t tried it in a while since its release.

It seems you're looking for advice on avoiding certain types of games. I'd suggest focusing on titles that offer a more balanced experience rather than those with heavy open-world elements in early access. If you're interested in survival games, consider exploring options that prioritize gameplay depth over expansive worlds.

I've been keeping up with the changes, they're solid. But I wouldn't risk it beyond its early access stage in Steam.

It’s enjoyable for a short time before it slows down. It becomes frustrating quickly, especially when you’re upset with the enemies, leading to frequent quits or starting over. Progress has been made since launch, but it still feels incomplete. The game offers limited building options and can’t do everything, though recent updates have added more items and fixed many issues. Updates happen roughly every two weeks, which is good for early access titles. Compared to similar games like 7 Days, Rust, or Space Engineers, it doesn’t rank among my top choices.

It hasn't changed much since its launch. The Forest is a game I wish I hadn't purchased. When you play with friends, it can be enjoyable for a short time, but the main appeal comes from social interaction rather than the gameplay itself.

I thought I enjoyed these survival games... I bought DayZ... it was terrible and a mess, although it's still in alpha. The development pace is really frustrating. I got H1Z1... it did what DayZ intended better, but it still fell short... the Forest will likely be the same. H1Z1 was decent at first, but I believe survival games like that are just disappointing. They seem appealing because of shows like The Walking Dead and others, but honestly, no.
