I explored Avast and AVG but wasn’t sure which one fits best—free is a must!

I use Avast Free, it works fine, but check out BitDefender (many people love it). Don't overlook Malware Bytes for malware protection.

That's a strong opinion! What are your thoughts on Kaspersky?

Usually I skip installing antivirus unless you're downloading reliable files. I also run a monthly scan with Malwarebytes and a free antivirus tool for a quick review. The takeaway: be aware of what you download and stay relaxed!

Kaspersky isn't among the top three you're considering, Norton is.

Bitdefender and Malwarebytes are my go-to antivirus choices. ZoneAlarm offers a free firewall to block threats early. It may not be the most advanced, but it functions adequately—just avoid checking any bundled offers unless necessary.

I rely on the free Avast, it functions well for most tasks, but if you use it regularly, it’s a good idea to scan occasionally and exercise caution with the downloads.
