Here’s a clearer version of your thoughts:

I’m unsure whether to go with Windows 10 based on the latest updates from Windows. I really like Windows 10 and have already scheduled an update for my main computer. I’ve set up the technical preview on my secondary machine. Will that device receive the final version on July 29? If it does, I’ll also update my main PC to Windows 10. Another concern is whether I can opt out of the insider program after switching to Windows 10 on my secondary system.

The previous discussion was identical. You should have a valid Windows 7 or 8.1 installation ready for the upgrade.
