It’s not recommended to swap your I9-9900K with an I7-8700K. The two processors are quite different in performance and compatibility, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to proceed.

The 9900K tends to get warmer than the 8700K, though a good cooler can keep it manageable. If this were my experience, I’d definitely go for it.

Your setup looks solid! The Noctua D15 cooler should work well, and the 650W Titanium PSU paired with a GTX 1080 Ti is a great combination for performance.
