For those new to the command line, begin with Windows and try WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). Most Linux distributions offer a fully working graphical interface, though occasional issues may arise, often needing a terminal to resolve.

The issues with Linux run much deeper... adjusting GPU power? Yeah, that’s a lot to cover... custom fan settings (not in BIOS)? That’s impressive. Almost the entire history of the universe was written just to get this far, yet it sometimes fails... graphics support, X11, DX11... all over the place. Good creative tools exist, but they’re not widely adopted... saying “shut up Nvidia” might come off as too strong, since there could be valid reasons companies avoid Linux for everyday users. That’s a sign of professionalism—unless Linux lacks a fully unified, customizable interface, it’ll always remain a niche option, kind of an outlier. Steam keeps pushing, but I’m not sure if they truly believe in it anymore. Still, Linux has the potential to become mainstream someday. Linus Torvalds himself acknowledges this, and he knows his stuff. Don’t take this personally; just my perspective when someone mentions a GUI on Linux... it’s not really there, and people don’t want it. The problem is, Linux tries to stand out for its own sake, but it doesn’t work well. As for you: why is 10 not an option? I’d pick 10 less terrible than the rest.

It’s unclear how your message came across, especially given your reaction to Linux. You seem to be really frustrated, and it might help to talk through what you’re going through. A therapist could provide support during this time. Good luck, and I hope things improve.

If the condition is "less efficient than Windows," the aim isn't to avoid Windows entirely.
