You should choose a Windows optimized for gaming performance. Consider Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11, which offer better drivers and settings for gaming. Ensure your GPU is not installed yet, as you can upgrade later if needed.

I assume op is considering lower-end specifications, perhaps a more suitable choice would be an earlier version. Given that Windows 7 support concluded at the beginning of this year, the most sensible path now is definitely Windows 10.

Absolutely, but if all his content is available on Steam, he could definitely explore more options. It would help to know exactly what games or projects he intends to play next.

This suggests your setup is likely the least optimal for running Windows titles on Linux.

This setup works well with Windows 10 Home. You can also use a tutorial to eliminate unnecessary files and boost performance https://www.troubleshootingcentral.com/d...ter-tools/

Windows 10 Home suffices. Win11 isn't available yet; it should drop later this year probably. You don't really require Pro options. Plus, any older Windows version isn't particularly beneficial because updates mainly target Win10.

It's interesting how folks seek pro workout options, but only those who truly need them realize they're after that extra stuff.
