Downgrading the processor would be a poor choice. The 11th generation i9 offers fewer cores and faced criticism for overheating issues at release. Upgrading to PCIe 4.0 doesn’t justify the extra performance gains. A 10th generation i9 is still adequate unless you’re willing to invest heavily for marginal improvements. Your current CPU remains solid and should be used for the foreseeable future. JM2C
