I purchased the Asus Vivbook 15 with an R5-3500U and have been using it for Valorant. I’m checking if upgrading to 16 GB RAM would be beneficial. Also, I’m puzzled about the display showing 8 GB installed but only using 5.9 GB.

Do you have a separate graphics card installed? Otherwise, it seems the graphics component is part of your Ryzen processor with 2GB of memory. Upgrading your RAM might help achieve higher frame rates if your system runs out of memory during gameplay.

Only a small portion of the available capacity is used, so 16GB isn't necessary unless you hit 8GB. Still, I'd consider upgrading if a good price is found.

That's clear, and great to hear you're using the integrated Vega 8 graphics. You'll be able to monitor your usage effectively next time you play. Thanks!
