I've been checking the details. Start Citizen seems expensive, but it might be worth considering if you're okay with the cost. For the Origin 315P, it could be a solid choice depending on your needs. Regarding the 3570K at 4.2GHz with a GTX 760, it's a decent setup for gaming performance.

Numerous players believe it will be beneficial. Some remain skeptical. The funds you contribute go toward enhancing the game. You'll receive a ship and additional perks as part of the reward. The ship's capabilities are determined by your choices within the 'Verse.' The 315p is an Explorer model, offering good value for money. The 760 version is uncertain, but it may support Arena Commander on lower or medium settings. Good luck!

Squadron 42 is still in the works, possibly not ready until next year or so.

You can explore various options. What you're looking for is open and functional—something you can engage with right now.

I just ran a test on my rig (4670k @ 4.4GHz, single GTX 760—SLI isn’t working yet) and it’s fluctuating between 40-60 FPS in both the hanger module and a dogfighting match with High settings (about 50 average). Your hardware looks fine. I think this could be a good move, but I’m hesitant to spend a lot just to try it out, especially since I can make money by earning ships in-game. A friend and I both bought the Aurora LN game package for $45US when it was available.

When purchasing a ship package, you receive the game along with it. Regarding your question... It's up to you whether you enjoy space ships, flight games, or similar titles. If you've never played one, try some that are already available, even if they're arcade-style. Just keep in mind, first-person isn't the same as a third-person space ship game. I recommend trying "X" games, though they do have a steep learning curve—something SC probably wouldn't face as much.

They're currently in pre-pre-alpha stage. You'll discover flying through the dog fighting module, which now features three game types across two maps. AI predicts alpha will encompass all DFM ships and begin showcasing some elements from squadron 42. Beta is expected to be a near-complete version of squadron 42, while the official release will mark the final version and lasting update. Edit: alpha is closed, but you can still pay to play in the DFM. Cost and playtime details are unclear.

The cost for the DFM is five dollars, and it’s included with your purchase. When other modules are released, access will be charged at five dollars per module during the alpha stages. You’ll receive beta access, so after the game goes beta you’ll have full access to everything. The single-player segment of Squadren 42 isn’t open world—you’re a military pilot—but the persistent universe remains open world.
