It's understandable to feel puzzled about Fortnite's popularity. The game has become a cultural phenomenon, with memes spreading rapidly online. Consider whether your interest is genuine or driven by curiosity about its widespread attention.
It's free, so nothing to lose. The player base is absolutely toxic. Remember back in the day when CS:GO was nothing but griefers, hackers and screamers? Know how bad WoW was, or how bad LoL is? Fortnite is worse. It's the single worst player base in gaming history, imo, and that's because it's full of kids and adults who like griefing said kids. A game has never made me want to join a Forza lobby and ram the shit out of everyone like Fortnite did. Seriously, it's that bad. If that doesn't bother you or you think you can play around it, you'll have fun. If you like enjoying your gaming experience and not listening to kids whine, shout, cry and scream at the adults who are teabagging their corpse after killing them two seconds after landing, you'll love it. If not, I mean, there's Rust, which has gotten so much better now that all the kids are playing Fortnite.
Fortnite can be enjoyable for skilled players, but it falls flat for others.
They represent entirely different kinds of structures. In Fortnite, constructing is something you can do effortlessly, swiftly, and while fighting. It feels more like a magical power. Plus, the game is free, so why not? I found the game itself acceptable, but the building aspect didn’t appeal to me.
