People often mention PUBG is enjoyable, especially with friends, though it can be quite buggy. It’s not a direct comparison to Fortnite since they’re more alike in being survival-focused games. Fortnite offers crafting and building mechanics that shift the competitive landscape, and it tends to be more forgiving when it comes to shooting. PUBG also leans more toward fast-paced action, with noticeable driving elements and a distinct rhythm. Movement feels a bit slower, but encounters feel more intense and thrilling compared to Fortnite. I find PUBG more like quick-pick 'em up games, which suits my preference. If you're looking for a group of friends to hang out with, then fine. Otherwise, it's not great. Packed with hackers, bugs, and the worst netcode I've ever seen (17hz average tick rate is terrible—they should feel bad about it).
Ignore this statement. It explains why it's so popular right now – it's really enjoyable, even when played alone.
No, the experience was really bad. It was super dull, and most of the time it felt like just collecting items without any real purpose, and the gunplay didn’t feel natural.
It seems the game remains quite enjoyable despite Fortnite's free status, though it can be tough to run, plagued by numerous hacks, and generally full of bugs. Its distinct vibe and creative elements set it apart from Fortnite’s art style and item variety.
I’ve spent more than 400 hours in this game, which gives my perspective some weight. Still, I’d advise against purchasing it right now, at least in its current form. It’s entertaining, but the game is riddled with problems that require significant fixes. You can spot the issues easily—broken mechanics, sync problems, and inconsistent hit tracking. If you’re willing to tolerate those quirks and deal with inconsistent players, then investing $30 might be worth it. But if you don’t have that kind of tolerance, I strongly recommend waiting. This game is still in beta, featuring only two maps and numerous bugs. Those who say it’s fine just because they want fun are right only for the short term. Over time, it becomes frustrating. Fortnite, on the other hand, is free, polished, and offers a much smoother experience once you get the building mechanics down.
