I'm assembling a new PC and have a 13700KF, 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM. I'm considering two motherboards—Asus Prime Z790-A and MSI Pro Z790-A. The Asus fits the theme better, but the MSI offers some features I prefer. The Asus is currently backordered while the MSI is in stock.

I’d probably pick MSI instead of Asus, though that’s just my take. From what I see, MSI offers a stronger power delivery, better IO options, and useful features at a lower price. It’s also available in stock. In my view, performance matters more than appearance, so the MSI board stands out as the best choice here—just the minor drawback is its theme.

That makes sense, I’ve been considering the same thing. This setup seems better overall compared to Asus. I’m planning for a white build, but probably close to it, since I don’t want to pay extra just for that color. The GPU will likely be a different shade anyway, and I’m not ready to commit to a specific model yet. It’s already adding a lot to my budget, and I’m waiting on the 7900XTX or 4080 options before making a decision.

The MSI MPG Z790 Edge Wifi features a predominantly white design, though it comes at a higher cost.

It's a great board, but the price is $529.99 via Memory Express. They’re offering a price match at $504.46 from another seller. It’s a tempting deal, but I’ll keep my budget around $400 for now. I don’t want to add more RGB software than necessary. I’ve already set it up so only iCue controls everything. I’ll need to consider this carefully.
