I'm considering switching from a 7700k to a newer Ryzen processor—either the 5600X or 5800X. I plan to use it with the NZXT H1 case, a 32GB RAM, 3200MHz DDR4 system running an Nvidia 3070 FE. The monitor is a 27-inch 1440p display at 165Hz. Mostly for gaming and general tasks, the 5600X costs about £280, while the 5800X is around £420. Since I won’t be upgrading the CPU for a few years, I want to make sure I’m investing wisely without wasting money. What do you think?

In upcoming titles you'll require additional cores now, avoiding immediate upgrades, while the 5700x offers a modest performance increase at a lower cost.

It varies based on your needs. If you mainly play games and do simple tasks, the 5600x will work well for several years. Investing extra money won’t make sense unless you plan to use it.
