As discussed, I'm trying to figure out the best CPU for my new build. I'm planning to go with a GTX 2080 and have two options: the i7 9700K or the Ryzen 7 3700X. I play VR and stream, so I want to know if the extra cores and threads matter for the Ryzen or if sticking with Intel's better performance is better. I'm also concerned about needing super-fast RAM for the AMD chip, since Ryzen seems to do well with it. VR gaming might not really need many cores, and I've had issues with my i7 4771 in that regard. VR gaming can be demanding, especially on older processors. Any advice would be appreciated!
