The laptop currently has a CPU that is likely outdated and may not support modern upgrades. You might be able to replace it if the model allows.

The system features a Celeron M 585 processor. The heatsink was taken off and the thermal paste appears to be dry. I might attempt to reinstall it with fresh paste. EDIT: According to the hardware info, the temperature is around 70°C, suggesting thermal issues aren't the main concern.
