I acquired some RAM on a whim, thinking it was a good deal. I paid 160€ for 128 GB, brand new. It matches the two products listed:

I’m using 32 GB in my PC (two 16 GB modules). So far, I haven’t needed more RAM. Should I sell it or keep it for later? Any advice would be great!

Execute several virtual machines, perform simulations using extensive datasets. Build a RAM-Disk and rapidly load data from it. That’s roughly the only thing that comes to mind.

Considering the same idea, I might just list it on eBay for a sale... Could save some cash to get new fans for my PC.

You might hold off on buying RAM until prices rise, as DDR4 is nearing its lowest cost so far and a rebound seems probable.

Assuming more PC components will increase in value isn't a wise strategy. It's not a joke.

Your 16GB RAM setup suggests a 1Rx8 configuration, so doubling it to 32GB would likely require a 2Rx8 arrangement. Swapping two of those should boost performance. If you already have a 2Rx8 setup, the change may not significantly impact speed.

When considering resale, it's likely worth it if you need to. If urgency strikes, a $70 value (118GB) of Optane on eBay usually covers the page file requirement—typically delivering 80-99.9% performance at a fraction of the cost, though occasional overshoots might occur. Useful scenarios include: 1. L1 ARC for ZFS, 2. Machine Learning, 3. Scientific computing, 4. Photogrammetry, and 5. Database caching.
