Consider using interesting options when working with 3-pin fan headers.
I own a PC case with three 3-pin fan headers that allow speed adjustment via a front panel switch. I've already set up fans using software, so I wondered if this capability could be reused in another way. One thought was to connect RGB strips to them, changing colors based on power input. Other ideas are welcome—please share how such a concept could be put into practice.
no rgb/aRGB led units will function with a 3pin fan header. there are fans that have built-in single-color leds connected via the header, but you'd still need to take the leds out and move them around the setup. likely there are only a few bulbs or diodes per fan, so it wouldn't be practical to install many lights this way.
