Consider using a reliable VPN service for secure file sharing.
Hi everyone, I have file shares at home that I want to reach through a VPN. Currently, I’m using a USG Pro 4 with a VPN setup, but I can access them on my Windows 10 server over the LAN. Equipment includes an Ubiquiti router, a 48-port switch, and a R620 switch. My server runs a cloud directory service and uses access control for sharing. I can ping these devices via VPN, while the LAN works fine. I think moving this setup to a more suitable location—like a dedicated servers or NAS area—would help. Original Post
Are alternative protocols supported? Can the VPN subnet reach the other subnets and the reverse?
No, I can't connect directly to the server via RDP from the VPN.
I can't directly connect to the VPN from outside your LAN using shell commands.
Check if RDP is active on the server. If enabled, it suggests a VPN configuration issue.
Are you linking to the VPN using a mobile data connection rather than your home network? Many services won’t function when accessed from outside your local network.
